Could these Manchester City, AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Sociedad return to The Emirates this summer?
Arsenal have had to watch their players disappear through the cracks in recent years. Last summer was no different with the biggest loss of all being Robin Van Persie who left to join Manchester United.
In the past they have had to watch the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and before that the likes of Marc Overmars, Nicolas Anelka and Emmanuel Petit have sought pastures new.
This summer however should be a different story entirely.
Just Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna have been linked with an exit and neither would be a massive loss. Meanwhile there should be a trimming of the fat with the wasted nobodies being sent from The Emirates.
But could players be heading back to The Emirates this summer?
A few have been linked so we look at the possibility of them arriving back in North London.
The Cameroonian international was one half of the big name departures last summer when he agreed to join Barcelona.
Almost in foresight Wenger made sure this departure was amicable and Song has struggled to break into the first-team picture at the Nou Camp.
Could they strengthen their flaky midfield with an immediate return for the 25-year-old?
Arsenal have a buy-back clause in the Mexican’s contract at Real Sociedad.
He has been in great form in Spain helping the unfancied Basque side lead a march for Champions League football next season.
The only problem would be the player. He has made his views very clear. He has no interest in a return to North London.
Out of contract at Manchester City in the summer the Ivorian is expected to go abroad with Galatasaray expected to be the front-runners in the hunt for his signature.
But an experienced centre-back to act as support for Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker could be great business for the player.
This one has been rumoured but would be an awful signing for Arsenal.
He has struggled since leaving with injuries and Arsenal fans took great pleasure in mocking his abject performance in the Champions League against Barcelona earlier in the month.
Not a player fans would want to see back despite his positional dexterity.
The Frenchman showed his class once again in a blast-from-the-past performance against Newcastle United yesterday.
He is not exactly a favourite of Roberto Mancini at the moment and would be a welcome signing in terms of quality for Wenger’s men.
Whether the fans would welcome back the lad is another story entirely
Would you like to see these players back at the club?
