Tottenham Hotspur latest: Four leave and rivals suffer injury blow

It has this evening been announced that three Tottenham Hotspur players have left the club to sign on loan with League One side Swindon. They are Nathan Byrne, Massimo Luongo, and Dean Parrett - who scored for the under-21s on Monday. It is the fourth loan spell for both Byrne and Parrett, and Luongo's second time out on loan. The trio will attempt to help Swindon secure a second successive promotion.

Another player to leave the club on loan is teenager Kevin Stewart, a full-back who has signed until the end of the campaign with Crewe Alexander.

Andre Villas-Boas has set a points target for Spurs, claiming he estimates they need to accumulate 16 points from a possible 24 to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham have also been given a boost by the fact Arsenal have lost midfielder Abou Diaby to a cruciate knee injury until the rest of the season and beyond.

The never ending saga which is the future of Leandro Damiao has again been stirred up, with an announcement from Internacional's director of footballthat the striker is likely to leave the club this summer. Spurs reportedly had bids turned down for him in January, while Napoli are claimed to be strongly interested in a summer bid. Tottenham midfielder Sandro is currently with the medical staff at Internacional, his former club, while he recovers from his knee injury.

Meanwhile the Mail claim Spurs lead the chase for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, with Inter Milan and Manchester City also interested in the forward.

The Star meanwhile report that Tottenham are going to battle Liverpool to sign winger Thomas Ince, the Blackpool star who beat Wilfried Zaha to the Championship Young Player of the Year Award. We have looked at just how high Spurs may look to go to outbid Liverpool.

Meanwhile former Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is not enjoying his time at Lokomotiv Moscow having lost his place in the team, and could be back in England if his club have anything to do with it. They want Watford's Matej Vydra to replace him, and could even offer the Russian in part-exchange.
