All of the latest Aston Villa news.

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Norwich City defender Russell Martin. The Daily Mirror has suggested that Paul Lambert is keen on adding the defender to his squad at the end of the season, but it seems to depend on whether Villa can stay in the Premier League.

Shay Given is staying quite on his future, suggesting his only focus is Aston Villa staying up this season. The goalkeeper has been second choice this season to Brad Guzan, which has led to rumours that he could move on to try and find more first team football before he retires.

Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all thought to be tracking the progress of Aston Villa’s Andreas Weimann. Weimann seems to be linked with a different club each day with Inter Milan also thought to be in the mix to sign him, should he become available.

Christian Benteke has described the prospect of signing for Inter Milan as a ‘dream move’. The 22-year-old Belgian has been the stand out performer in a struggling side so far this season, which has led to plenty of suggestions that he will leave Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Former Aston Villa boss John Gregory has suggested that the presence of Christian Benteke is enough to keep Paul Lambert’s job safe. There have been calls from some supporters for Lambert to be axed at the end of the season but Gregory suggests this signing is enough reason for him to stay.

United States and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has suggested that Villa shot stopper Brad Guzan has a tremendous future ahead of him. Friedel has admitted that Guzan has been the best goalkeeper at the club this season, as he continues to keep shay Given out of the team.

Former Aston Villa midfield man Lee Hendrie has backed the club to survive the Premier League relegation fight. Hendrie suggests the club has a little bit of momentum heading into the final games of the season, which is what will help Villa to keep their heads above water.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has said he will play anywhere for Aston Villa. The striker has been used in a variety of positions by Paul Lambert this season but has admitted he doesn’t care where he plays, as long as he’s in the team and he can make a difference to the results.

Aston Villa have had scouts in Croatia watching UEFA Under-17 section matches. The club’s scouts were joined by several others for a mini tournament, which showcased some of the best teenage talent, with clubs looking to invest in the stars of the future.
