FIFA will examine the incident involving Luis Suarez during Uruguay’s match against Chile. Suarez appeared to punch a Chilean defender as the pair grappled at a corner, which would have been a straight red card had the referee or one of his assistants seen it.

Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Barcelona teenager Sergi Canos according to several sources. The 16-year-old has also been linked with Arsenal and other top European sides but Liverpool are thought to have already made enquiries over his availability this summer.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush has urged the club to do everything possible to sign Ashley Williams from Swansea City. The former striker has suggested the Welshman is exactly what the Liverpool defence needs to progress and get stronger ahead of next season.

Liverpool can rest easy from one angle in the debate over Luis Suarez’s future. Juventus have reportedly ruled themselves out of the race to sign the striker, which means Liverpool stand a better chance of hanging onto him if they don’t finish in the top four.

Liverpool could face tough competition from Everton and Spurs at the end of the season, in their pursuit of Valencia left back Aly Cissokho. Liverpool have been linked with the defender for a number of months but they could miss out if a tug of war starts between the three clubs.

Moussa Sow of Fenerbahce has hinted at a possible move to Liverpool this summer. Liverpool have been linked with the striker this season but rumours seemed to have died down following reports that Liverpool’s budget would be restricted, forcing Brendan Rodgers to go for higher profile targets.
