Arsenal have up to 11 players who can play across their midfield but which three players should they let go this summer?
Arsenal are going to need to make changes ahead of next season, as they look to try and fire themselves back into the top four and to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.
As things stand they have 11 players who can play in midfield positions regularly, but they could do with some consolidation down to two players for each midfield position which will allow them to add elsewhere.
His time is surely up. He’s a superb touch player, controls the ball well but he’s no way near as consistent as he was before he got injured. Arsenal should release him and promote one of their youngsters.
Rosicky is getting older and while his experience would be missed, Arsenal have some very exciting young midfield players like Thomas Eisfeld developing and increasing their experience is needed, and the Czech midfielder should move on from their path.
Has been inconsistently available for selection this season once again, which has seen him struggle to throw his weight around in the midfield. His latest injury makes it almost impossible for Arsenal to consider him as a valid option.
He’s got great work ethic and enthusiasm which makes him popular with a lot of Arsenal fans but even when fit he gives the ball away frequently and he doesn’t have the range of passing needed to have a significant impact.
He won't be fit until December, and while he would not pass a medical anywhere, Arsenal should consider trying to cancel his contract.
If the Russian is an Arsenal player next season then it will amaze thousands of fans. His contract is up and hee seems to have lost his way and doesn’t seem to have any obvious route back into the side. Wenger seems to have lost faith in him, which is a shame because he’s a solid player.
He’s put in some of the best performances by an Arsenal midfielder in living memory such as his four goals against Liverpool and the goal he bagged against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Arsenal fans, is there anyone else you want rid of?
