Amid all the talk about Ezequiel Garay to Manchester United, one piece of information jumps out.
Reports in Portugal stated that Manchester United sealed the race for Benfica centre-back Ezequiel Garay last week.
Neither club have commented on the supposed deal, leaving fans on tenterhooks waiting to find out if it has in fact gone through, or is hyped-up 'paper talk' in a slow international week.
When piecing the jigsaw together, there is one piece of information which stands out.
Garay is represented by Gestifute - The sports agency owned by 'Super Agent' - Jorge Mendes.
Mendes is European football's top agent, representing Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Falcao. With all three potentially on the move or re-negotiating contracts this summer, the next few months could be very lucrative.
Mendes could be about to get even richer by clinching Garay a big move - He certainly has history with Manchester United.
On his client list is Carlos Queiroz - who had two spells as Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford.
Mendes helped Cristiano Ronaldo move to - and away from - United, and also has his fellow compatriot Nani and Brazilian midfielder Anderson on his books.
More controversially, Mendes is known for helping sell Bebe to Old Trafford - Showing he really is the master salesman.
You might think this may make United wary of dealing with him, but his client base is so large and has some of Europe's top talents, United are seemingly prepared to push this aside and focus on the successes he has brought them in the past.
Garay's contract with Benfica has just two years left to run, so now is the right time for the club to try to cash in on him while his price is at it's highest with him on course to win a league title this season.
In United there are apparently willing buyers, with 20 million Euros the reported price - of which 10 will head to his former club Real Madrid, as part of their sell-on clause.
Now we just await confirmation.
What do you think of the Garay 'deal' and Mendes' involvement?
