Come and get them! Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham told to make a move for Ligue 1 stars

Belhanda Morocco

Montpellier have announced an openness to letting Younes Belhanda and Henri Bedimo leave the club in the summer. Is the Premier League their next destination?

Last season Montpellier, a city that tends to conjure up an image of burly men throwing around an egg shaped ball rather than that of skinny folk kicking a spherical one around the ground, shocked French football by beating big-spending Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 crown.

Such was the impressiveness of their season last year it saw no less than four players in the Ligue 1 team of the year. One of those was Olivier Giroud who moved on in 2012 to Arsenal while two of the other players in that selection became the envy of many other Premier League sides.

Now it seems as though they could indeed be on their way to the Premier League. The usually unyielding and resolute president of the southern side Louis Nicollin has confirmed that Younes Belhanda and Henri Bedimo can leave the club this summer:

"Bedimo and Belhanda can leave. I am waiting for different offers. Apart from those two, we can keep the rest of the squad.’’

Cameroonian international left-back Henri Bedimo has previously been linked with West Ham United and the powerful full-back has previously been quoted as saying his goal is to play in England. Liverpool and Newcastle United have also previously been credited with an interest but for The Hammers it would be an excellent piece of business to bring in the dynamic 28-year-old.

The other man in question is Younes Belhanda and he has no shortage of admirers. A move to Fenerbahce fell through in the January transfer window while he has also ruled out the idea of a move to Russia when it has been put forward as an option.

Arsenal and Tottenham have previously been strongly linked with an interest in the Moroccan international.

So which team should sign him?

In the end that might be a decision based on their end of the season standing as Belhanda has previously made his desire to play in the Champions League next season more than clear:

‘’I'm only looking at clubs playing in the Champions League. I'm a competitor. In Spain, England, Italy and Germany, there are many great clubs."

Perhaps just another bonus to out-place your respective North London rival this season.

Would you like to see Bedimo or Belhanda in your team next season?
