England started their qualification campaign for the Under-17 European Championship with a win thanks to Alex Kiwomya.
England don’t have a great international history against Portugal so it was refreshing to stick it to them, even if that was at Under-17 level.
Chelsea youngster Alex Kiwomya scored the only goal of the match and what a finish it was too. After beating a defender and the goalkeeper, Kiwomya slotted the ball home from the most obscure of angles to ensure England started their campaign with three points.
Chelsea have some of the best teenagers currently playing in their youth team and all over different parts of Europe and Kiwomya looks like another example of a player, who could have a very bright future at Stamford Bridge if he’s handled in the right way.
Kiwomya has brilliant pace and he’s already tasted success in a Chelsea shirt, as he was part of the youth team which won the FA Cup in 2012, scoring goals regularly and building his confidence.
England take on Russia this evening at the home ground of Burton Albion in their next match.
What do you think of the goal?
