Chelsea target Radamel Falcao has had quite an amazing weekend.
It has been a big weekend for Radamel Falcao - And not because his future has been debated by the English and Spanish press, as per usual.
While the Mirror declared on Saturday night that Manchester City had stolen a march on Chelsea for his signature, it is pretty certain his thoughts were elsewhere.
Why? It's quite simple, after Colombia's 5-0 win over Bolivia on Friday - in which he scored the fourth, he had some impressive news to deliver.
He is to become a father for the very first time.
It was something he had been keeping under wraps for a little while, but only announced publicly after his country's World Cup Qualifier victory.
He said: "Now I have to learn to change nappies, it’s all new to me and I’ll be a novice at first. It’s just going to be fantastic because I love kids."
It may not be the earth-shattering news Chelsea or Manchester City fans had been hoping to hear in terms of transfer talk, but it could have equally as big a bearing on his future destination this summer.
Clearly Falcao and the mother of his child-to-be will not struggle financially, he is already likely earning around £100,000 per week plus at Atletico Madrid.
While a move to England could see him double this figure, there are perhaps more pressing issues he will now have to consider.
Falcao is not a fluent speaker of English, and he may well have concerns about bringing up his new baby in a foreign country in which he has not even settled.
His partner is also likely to have her say, and if she does not want to move to England, it will test his resolve to moving even further - Alternate options include staying in Spain and signing a new deal at Atletico, or forcing through a controversial move to Real Madrid.
Now the extra money could offset the tricky issues posed by moving to England, but becoming parents is a major lifestyle change to acclimatise to, and he now has to consider whether he wants to add to these by changing country as well.
What do you think about the news? Is it more likely to see Falcao try and get a big payday? Or could it hamper any switch to England?
