PICTURES: Premier League players from Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa 'enjoying' the snow

The USA vs Costa Rica game in Commerce City, Denver was hit by a huge snow blizzard. But our Premier League boys looked to be enjoying themselves... right?

Sitting here just outside London I am perhaps on the periphery of the reach of this snow blizzard enveloping the nation this March weekend. With a white Easter approaching the damage has been done on the sporting world with heavy snow interrupting the world of horse racing, rugby and of course football.

Games in League One and Two have both been postponed while the Scottish football fixtures have been heavily hit.

The Northern Ireland v Russia tie scheduled for yesterday at Windsor Park was postponed and rescheduled for today at 15:00. That fixture has again been postponed and is now likely to be played later in the year; with a June date expected.

But I personally have no idea what all the fuss is about; it is only a little bit of snow.

Some Premier League footballers have not got off so lightly this weekend as was seen in Colorado when the United States took on Costa Rica.

It looks like some of our stars were having the time of their lives with Bryan Ruiz of Fulham and Bryan Oviedo of Everton taking on the likes Clint Dempsey, Brad Guzan and Geoff Cameron in Denver. The Stoke City utility player continued to show his versatility by also demonstrating a penchant for clearing snow when he helped the field crew at half-time.

The result in the end was 1-0 to the USA with a goal from Tottenham forward Dempsey proving the decider.

Costa Rican officials have in fact already complained about the game continuing in what can only be described as a blizzard. For the players from the Caribbean island who have not played in Scandinavia or the East Coast of America this may have been the first ever time snow has touched their heads and it must have been a daunting task for them to conquer. Not to mention the fact that the snowfall gave the USMNT a cloak of invisibility in their white kits.

But nonetheless, personally, it looked like a lot of fun. So here are some pictures from Twitter of our Premier League stars enjoying the Denver blizzard…
