Why Ibrahimovic will never leave PSG

There’s a very simple reason Zlatan Ibrahimovic may never move to another top European side during his career.

His agent has admitted that reason is effectively because he goes where the money is and not many teams could or would want to afford him.

The big Swedish striker is the icon of the PSF revolution in France, a team he joined because they offered him a better package financially than any other side was willing to.

He had been tipped for a move back to Italy but his agent has ruled that out because of the simple fact, no side would be able to afford the wages he would want.

He does have a sterling record at the moment for the French club with 25 goals in 26 league games, which is one of the best strike rates of any top striker playing across Europe.

However, there have always been lingering questions over the quality of French football, which has prompted suggestions that Ibrahimovic may move back to Italy, Spain or even join a Premier League side before he decides to retire.

Despite this impressive strike rate he still carries a reputation, especially in England, for going missing in big games, despite scoring four goals against England the last time the nation met Sweden.

It’s also his ego and his profile that goes alongside the demand for the very best cash deal possible. This is certainly something that would put a lot of sides off from going anywhere near him.

He enjoys a status at PSG that very few other sides would be willing to give him, which is probably why he’s very happy that David Beckham hasn’t joined the French club for longer than he has done.

Ibrahimovic is a very good striker but he’s on a current deal, which is probably worth more than he actually deserves or is worth.

When he does try to leave PSG, he will be older and one step closer to retirement, which will stop him from moving to another top side because the main emphasis at the moment for most teams, is to bring through the best young players.

There’s no doubt he would improve a side like Manchester City or Chelsea but those clubs have too much expectation and quality to take such an expensive gamble.

Do you think he’ll ever leave PSG?
