Messi to get his very own museum

Just when you thought you’d seen or heard it all, Lionel Messi is being given his very own museum at home in Argentina.

If a casted gold foot worth £3.5 million wasn’t enough to pay tribute to the great Lionel Messi, the people of Roasrio have gone a step further, with a museum as a tribute to the town’s most famous son.

Messi is widely acknowledged as the greater player to have ever graced the game as he continues to set records and achieve things, which may never be broken for as long as football exists.

The museum will be created featuring various items of memorabilia which will be donated by Messi’s family. It will include several items that chronicle his life from a kid, through his golden spell at Barcelona and it will be added to until he retires.

Messi will be the central theme of the museum, which will also pay tribute to other players who were born in the region such as Angel Di Maria of Real Madrid.

It’s a really interesting aspect of what football means to the people of Argentina and the differences between South American support and European support because it’s difficult to comprehend similar museums for other great players in England, Spain, France, Germany or anywhere else.

That is unless, Mario Balotelli goes and pays for a museum to be created for himself and his family, featuring exhibits and art which have been hand picked by him personally.

It’s a fitting tribute to Messi because there may never be another player like him, he’s unique and someone that kids will watch footage of in a hundred years time, long after he’s passed away.

If you’re thinking of popping over to Argentina any time soon, then it could be worth a visit once it’s been erected and established because the museum is only going to increase in fame and interest from this point forward.

Other than Messi, who do you think deserves a museum based on their football career?
