Some news that may come as a shock to Arsenal fans is the story that they may be lining up a swoop for former player Mathieu Flamini. The French utility player was recently berated by Arsenal fans for his performance against Barcelona in the Champions League for AC Milan.

He is out of contract at the San Siro this summer and is expected to move on; with reports suggesting Wenger could be keen on his re-recruitment.

Arsenal will be facing competition from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala for Valencia defender Adil Rami. The French international is seen by Arsene Wenger as a means to shoreing up the defence but the Russian side see him as a perfect replacement for Chris Samba.
