Arsenal have been linked with exciting French attacker Antoine Griezman, but could a certain Mexican dissuade him from making a switch.
Antoine Griezman was touted as a potential Gareth Bale replacement last month, a French winger who is having a superb season at Real Sociedad.
At the weekend he scored two in a 4-1 win over Valladolid including a superb volley just before half-time, which led us to point out just what an excellent signing for Spurs he would be regardless of whether Bale stays or goes.
Within the past 12 hours, the 21-year-old Frenchman has been linked with a switch to Spurs' North London rivals Arsenal, by Spanish newspaper AS who say he has attracted the attention of Arsene Wenger.
The question is whether Arsenal could persuade him to join them.
Sociedad are not one of Spain's glamour clubs, but thanks in part to the talent of Griezman, they are enjoying a sensational campaign.
Against all odds, the club currently sit fourth in La Liga. They are two points ahead of Valencia and three in front of Malaga. With the top four qualifying for the Champions League, Sociedad's late season form could see them complete a remarkable surprise.
With Arsenal evenly balanced to finish in the top four, they would perhaps struggle to tempt Griezman to leave the club whose academy he rose through after moving to Spain as a youngster, when he has the opportunity to play in Europe's elite competition.
But one wildcard could come in the form of former Gunners attacker Carlos Vela, who has been turning heads in Spain ever since leaving Arsenal for Sociedad in the summer.
He recently said he has no intention of leaving Sociedad for a return to Arsenal, and you just wonder if he would talk his teammate into snubbing any such move too.
Vela and Griezman are two attackers who have formed a formidable attacking midfielder partnership in a 4-2-3-1 formation, contributing 21 goals in La Liga between them already this season - Vela 12, Griezman 7.
The pair of them are crucial to Sociedad's success, their two top scorers, and while it is natural they will attract the attention of larger clubs, they will be enjoying their football at present.
And that is the message Vela will pass onto Griezman. Vela was a bit-part player at Arsenal at best. At worst, a reserve, and that's when he was not out on loan.
Griezman is only 21 and has his whole future ahead of him. Despite Arsenal's need for an out and out winger, Vela may just have a word and convince him his prospects are for now better served staying in Spain.
He may be right, but whether his teammate listens to him is another matter.

Do you think Vela would try and talk his teammate out of joining Arsenal? Would he be a good signing for the Gunners?
