Callum McManaman’s tackle on Massadio Haidara was very similar to Roy Keane’s which ended Alf-Inge Haaland’s career, which was worse?
It’s not very often that the talking point on everyone’s lips on a Monday morning is a negative part of the game but Callum McManaman’s challenge on Massadio Haidara yesterday in the match between Wigan and Newcastle was horrendous.
Haidara’s foot was caught in the turf as McManaman launched himself into the Newcastle player’s knee which caused him to be treated for several minutes before having to leave on a stretcher.
It was a remarkably similar challenge to the one Roy Keane put in on Alf-Inge Haaland which ended the latter’s career after he had previously accused of Keane faking an injury as he lay on the floor during a Manchester United game with a serious problem.
We’ve put the challenges side by side below, would the sueamish ones please leave the room;
Which one do you think is worse?
