West Ham, Stoke, Fulham, Southampton and Newcastle feature.
Nicklas Bendtner did not have a great time during his loan spell at Serie A giants Juventus and he’s not having a great time at Hamburg in the Bundesliga either.
Hamburg’s boss Frank Arnesen has suggested it’s all a bit too much for him, suggesting he should join a lower profile team when he returns to England so who could he consider?
West Ham United
With Andy Carroll going back to Liverpool at the end of this season, the Hammers are going to be looking for a centre forward to replace him. Bendtner is a similar striker to Carroll in many ways; height, strength and power. Sam Allardyce would also be likely to base the team around him, which is responsibility he’d probably enjoy.
Stoke are a good candidate to sign him because of their style of play. They are a big and imposing side, which would allow Bendtner to fit straight into the attack. It of course depends on how much he wants to play that style of football but the profile of the club means they’d more than likely welcome him with open arms.
Fulham are a well run and very savvy London based club, which means Bendtner doesn’t have to shift his English way of life outside London. He wouldn’t be first choice due to the presence of Dimitar Berbatov but the club would offer a style of football he may be more used to.
Newcastle are one of the sides that will be looking to add a striker during the summer transfer window. There’s a good chance they won’t pay the massive fee that re-signing Andy Carroll would probably generate so Bendtner is a good option and someone who would compliment Papiss Cisse nicely.
If the Saints manage to stay up, then they will be looking to consolidate and build next season. There is talk of Rickie Lambert possibly leaving in the summer but even if he stays, Bendtner is the right sort of profile and quality of player that would more than likely interest Mauricio Pochettino if he’s available.
Where do you think Bendtner will end up?
