Raheem Sterling and Suso played major roles as Liverpool’s Under-21 side secured a 3-3 draw against West Ham United.
Say what you like about Brendan Rodgers, he does seem to know when to drop players from the first team or give them a rest from the pressure, to achieve the best results from them as individuals.
He’s done just that with Raheem Sterling and Suso and it seems to have worked a treat as both players are in fine form for the Liverpool Development Squad at the moment.
Sterling and Suso both started in the Under-21 match against West Ham with Sterling scoring a brilliant goal and Suso notching up a brace as Liverpool’s youngsters held out for a point.
Both players are now pushing for a return to the Liverpool first team, which gives Brendan Rodgers a headache as he has well over half a dozen players now competing for a few spots in the starting line-up.
It’s a credit to both players in this case that they haven’t thrown their toys out of the pram but have worked hard, showing the sort of determination and form which Rodgers will ultimately use to bring them back.
We’ve put videos of their strikes below;
Are you impressed at how they’ve reacted to being dropped?
