Who should Manchester United move on this summer?

Manchester United will make changes this summer but which of the current crop should be flogged or released?

Manchester United, just like any other club, will look to bring in new players this summer to push the side forward. Unfortunately for the squad, that means that certain other players are going to be axed.

Here is our list of who they should consider letting go.

Federico Macheda

Macheda burst onto the scene for United when he bagged a winning goal against Aston Villa. However, since then he has failed to show the sort of early promise which has led to several loan spells away from the club, where he has also failed to create a brilliant record for himself to fall back on.

Bebe is currently on loan at Rio Ave and it’s through no fault of his own that he faces the exit door. United simply have far too many wingers for him to play a big role over the course of next season, so he may be better off seeking a move to a club where he’ll get first team football.

Antonio Valencia

He has been nothing like the player of the last two years, which could force Fergie’s hand as United could get a very good price for him. Valencia has struggled to maintain any sort of consistency this season and some basic parts of his game have been very poor.

United are likely to tool up in the middle of the pitch and add some real quality into that area. Anderson is one player who could make way because he clearly doesn’t feature in Sir Alex Ferguson’s immediate plans and is not a contender for the side in more important matches.

Rio Ferdinand

This will be a controversial choice because Ferdinand has been one of the best defenders at United this season. However, his contract is due for renewal and if he won’t accept a reduced pay packet, United may be forced to let him go as they may need that cash to attract someone like James Rodriguez to the club.

There’s nothing wrong with Ferdinand’s ability, it’s a basic financial and business decision because United will not want to carry on paying Ferdinand over £100,000 per week.
