Luis Suarez’s performances for Liverpool this season are reported to have earned him a 50 per cent pay rise. Liverpool are thought to be considering doubling his wages in an effort to stop him from leaving the club for another side after this season has finished.

Liverpool could have a very good chance of re-signing Xabi Alonso if the midfielder becomes available. Fresh reports have suggested there is friction over the terms of his future at Real Madrid which means Liverpool may have the chance to lure him back to Anfield.

Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe has praised the impact Philippe Coutinho has had on the side. The midfielder made a permanent switch from Inter Milan in January and Pascoe has said he’s having a brilliant effect on the side which is only going to get better.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has claimed Luis Suarez would only leave the club for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Owen argues that his stature at Liverpool is currently so high that it would have to be the very best side coming in for him, which would force him to leave.

Liverpool are thought to be in a direct battle against Arsenal for the transfer of PSG defender Mamadou Sakho. Liverpool need defensive reinforcements ahead of next season and Sakho becomes the latest player to go on a very long list of rumoured targets.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are the front runners to sign Christian Eriksen from Ajax. Eriksen recently turned down a new deal at the Dutch club which means he could be up for grabs at the end of this season, if Liverpool can give themselves in edge over his pursuit.

Jamie Carragher says he stands by his decision to retire from professional football at the end of the season. The centre back has been urged from various sections of Liverpool supporters and former players to re-think his decision but it’s not one he seems ready to go back on.

Liverpool face competition from Chelsea over the future of non-league striker Daniel Carr. Carr has a prolific record for Dulwich Hamlet which prompted Liverpool to invite him for a trial, which seems to have sparked the interest of other Premier League admirers.
