Project hits $900,000 target in record time.
inXile has announced the sudden success of its second Kickstarter project, Torment, with the company seeing its $900,000 funding goal achieved in mere hours.
While some companies have faced an up-hill struggle in getting their Kickstarter projects off the ground, inXile has found a recipe for success by revisiting its back catalogue, with its return to role-playing game Torment: Tides of Numenera currently closing in on $2 million.
"You’ve got to be freaking kidding me!! We just funded in six hours!?!?!" enthused company boss Brian Fargo in the project's first update.
"Our heads are still spinning at the incredible response we have had from today's support of our Kickstarter campaign. We had plans to roll out our stretch goals and to write our Kickstarter updates but never in our wildest dreams did we think we would fund this quickly!!"
This echoes the success the company had in pitching its return to the post-apocalypitc franchise Wasteland, with its Wateland 2 Kickster receiving over $2 million in excess than its stated goal of $900,000.
inXile promises that every dollar pledged will go towards making the game better and stretching its goals, with an emphasis placed on expanding its story.
With 29 days to go until the project closes the sky's the limit.
