Lukaku is planning a major Chelsea future

Romelu Lukaku is making all the right noises as he plans a very big career at the West London club.

Romelu Lukaku may still be a teenager but he is showing a great maturity and eagerness as a Premier League footballer which could turn him into a Chelsea legend over the next few years.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at West Brom and is likely to stay there for next season, which means he’ll eventually go back to Chelsea with experience and form in the bank, which will make him better suited for a run in the first team.

The big Belgian front man offers Chelsea something which they have not had since Didier Drogba left the club to go and play in China and that’s brute strength and a bully in the attack.

Lukaku seems to have great knowledge far beyond his years because his planning of his career in England is precise and extremely clever.

When he first went to Chelsea, he identified with the magnitude of the club, the way it was run, the pressure, the expectations and what it means to be in that side.

Those are all things that he may have felt a little intimidated by which is the reason for loan deals that allow him to grow accustomed to football in England and go back to Chelsea as a more complete player.

He could have stayed at Chelsea and competed alongside Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Victor Moses but he’s unlikely to have gotten the chances in the first team that he’s currently getting at West Brom.

This lad is a very special striker and someone who seems to want to cut the standard at Chelsea and play at a level similar to great Chelsea strikers of the recent past.

His knowledge and understanding of the game at West Brom is coming on and he clearly doesn’t seem ready to go back to Stamford Bridge just yet which is the reason he’ll most likely stay with West Brom next season.

He may also view the situation at Chelsea and not see the sense in an imminent return. While the club has no permanent manager and no clear indications over where the club will look to improve in the transfer market, there’s not much point in going back.

He wants to be first choice at Chelsea, he wants to put on that shirt and be ready to lead the frontline at the club which expects to challenge for silverware on all fronts every season.

Chelsea fans, can he turn himself into a club legend?
