Liverpool latest: Including Carroll and non-league superstar

All of the latest Liverpool news.

The Sun has suggested that West Ham United will send Andy Carroll back to Liverpool when his loan deal expires. There had been talk earlier in the season that Carroll may stay at the Hammers as Brendan Rodgers has made it clear Carroll doesn’t feature in his first team plans.

Sunderland have opened talks with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to try and extend his contract. Liverpool were thought to be keen on signing the shot stopper this summer, which seems to have prompted them into sorting out a new long term contract for their number one.

Sampdoria have confirmed there has been no official interest in striker Mauro Icardi. Several clubs, including Liverpool, have been linked with the forward but the Serie A giants have revealed that no one has been touch over a possible summer move for the centre forward.

Pepe Reina has urged Liverpool to spend as much as they can to help the side realise its full potential. Reina has suggested that several additions will have to be made to the squad in order to help the side progress. However, he has urged Brendan Rodgers not to be reckless in the process.

Liverpool have offered a trial to non-league Dulwich Hamlet striker Daniel Carr. Carr has one of the most prolific records for any forward currently playing non-league football; he’s scored 23 goals in 23 games for his current side which has earned him a possible dream move to Anfield.

Suso could be on the brink of a return to first team action. The young Spanish star has been putting in some superb performances for the club’s Under-21 side after dropping out of contention for a first team place, after being given a chance earlier in the season by Brendan Rodgers.

Aly Cissokho has welcomed rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool. The Valencia defender was touted as a possible back up and competition to Jose Enrique at left back but he’s cast doubt over the move suggesting he would prefer a move to Manchester United.

Joe Cole has hit out at Liverpool, saying he regrets his decision to join the club in 2010. Cole says he feels he was never really given the chance to settle in at the club and has suggested he had no real connection there, as he has with West Ham and former club Chelsea.

Celtic are reportedly ready to go after Liverpool youngster David Amoo. The 20-year-old was sent on loan to Tynecastle during the January transfer window to gain first team experience and Celtic are seemingly ready to invest in the young player and give him a first team squad place.
