It's time for Liverpool to bring back Suso

Suso is piling the pressure onto Brendan Rodgers to bring him back into the first team at Anfield.

Spanish play maker Suso produced a brilliant performance for the Liverpool Under-21 side against Southampton earlier in the week, which is increasing the pressure on the club to put him back into the first team squad.

Suso was effectively moved down a standard so he could play more games competitively than he would have done had he stayed in the first team squad.

The good news is that he’s responded to it well and his performance against Southampton shows that he’s far too good to be playing at that level for Liverpool, for too long.

His passing looks as good as any other player in the Liverpool side at the moment. He rarely seems to play a pass more than ten yards which is the mark of a solid midfield player who is precise with his position.

He’s just as precise when he does have to play longer passes, easing pressure on the defence or setting up chances in the attack of the side. It also means he doesn’t give the ball away.

His ball control at pace also seems to have come on a long way to when he was first introduced to the Liverpool first team, earlier on in the season.

Rodgers could use him as an impact player off the bench in the next few Premier League games, as any player who can control the ball while moving at speed, can be very effective in exploiting a tired defence late on in matches.

He’s also getting into some very good attacking positions at the moment which allows him to create chances and also have chances of his own.

His shooting accuracy has improved a lot since the start of the season and he seems to pop up undetected, which is relevant for the first team because a lot of the attention is always going to be on a Steven Gerrard or Luis Suarez.

He also deserves big praise for going away and working hard, not complaining too much that he’s been asked to move down a standard of football.

He’s shown great initiative to use it to his advantage and to give himself the best possible chance of being drafted back into the first team squad over the rest of the season.

Liverpool fans, time to bring him back?
