Five reasons Manchester City should sign Alexis Sanchez

Manchester City Etihad 2

Alexis Sanchez is a player who could dramatically add to Manchester City in a number of ways.

Alexis Sanchez could well be on the way out of Barcelona this summer if the Spanish giants react with a big clearout of personnel at the end of the current season.

Here are the main reasons why Manchester City should consider snapping him up.

Width

At the moment City don’t have any high profile wingers who are consistently starting for the senior side. Sanchez is the sort of player who will play a wider position in the team, perhaps off of a main striker, although that means bad news for Scot Sinclair.

He’s not a classic out and out winger but he would provide more width than City already have.

Style

He’s spent the latest portion of his career at Barcelona, the side that embodies the pass and move idea of football. City play in a very similar way, controlling the possession and tempo of the game which would allow him to fit in and have an immediate effect.

Previous Interest

He will be fully aware that City tried to sign him in the past and although he turned them down for Barcelona, it means it shouldn’t be majorly difficult to orchestrate a deal if all parties are happy and can reach some sort of agreement.

These links are not something that all sides interested in him can benefit from.

Physical Attributes

He looks deceptively strong for a small man, which combined with his pace, could make him extremely difficult to stop. His physical attributes mean he would just add to the number of intimidating players at City, who can pick up the ball and make runs straight at a full back.

Finishing

His finishing ability is superb which makes him very useful in the opponent’s final third. Plenty of teams drop deep against City, which means any player with half a yard of space needs to be able to bury the ball in a split second.

City fans, do you want him? How would he fit in?
