Arsenal: Who's improved this season and who hasn't?

Arsenal have been a very mixed bag this season with some key players improving while others have gone backwards.

Arsenal’s struggles and apparent crisis have been well documented so far this season, which is down to a number of different factors.

Some key players in the side have excelled themselves while some have struggled to pull their weight and produce the sort of consistency and performances that Arsenal fans expect.

Who has improved?

Carl Jenkinson

Jenkinson has come on leaps and bounds this season and is regularly competing for the starting right back slot at the club. The 21-year-old has made 18 starts and four sub appearances for the Gunners this season which is proof of the growing faith Arsene Wenger has in him.

Theo Walcott

Walcott has not had the best of seasons but he has come good on his promise to play efficiently in the attack of the side. He was under a lot of pressure when he was first switched to a centre forward slot but he’s bagged 11 goals in 24 games which is respectable.

Jack Wilshere

Wilshere has been having a great season for both club and country. We all knew he was a very good player anyway but he has transformed his form this season and looks like the most dangerous midfielder in the Arsenal team at the moment.

Who hasn’t improved?

Bacary Sagna

At the moment there won’t be many fans who are worried about the impact that will be created if Sagna leaves the club this summer. Arsenal have a solid replacement in Jenkinson and Sagna has struggled, looking not too much different from the player of the last couple of seasons.

Thomas Vermaelen

Vermaelen has struggled under the weight of leading the side as captain. He’s not been helped by the fact he’s been asked to play out of position on several occasions but he’s not producing the efficient displays, which he’s come to be associated with at the Gunners.

In a season where Gervinho could have taken the leading attacking slot at Arsenal by the scruff of the neck, he’s done the exact opposite. His 13 appearances in the league have produced three goals and he also missed that sitter against Bradford City.

Arsenal fans, who would you put on this list?
