Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy's remarkable Newcastle United stats

Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy have made quite an impression early on at Newcastle. But how much so?

Newcastle's January new boys have made quite an impact already, turning the club's attention from a surprise relegation battle back towards finishing in the top 10.

The two who have been the most consistent so far are midfielder Moussa Sissoko - surely January's biggest bargain, and Mathieu Debuchy, signed from Toulouse and Lille respectively.

Here is a look at just how their performances in the Premier League - Debuchy has made six and Sissoko four - have measured against their teammates.


- Moussa Sissoko has attempted more shots per game than any Newcaste player with the exception of Hatem Ben Arfa, who matches him. (2.5 shots per game).

- Sissoko averages two key passes per game, eight in four in total, more than any of any of his new teammates on Tyneside.

- Sissoko's two assists already puts him second in the Newcastle squad this season, behind only Sylvain Marveaux (three). Remarkably Yohan Cabaye only has one.

- With three goals in four games, Sissoko is already Newcastle's fifth highest Premier League scorer this season.

- Sissoko is the third best dribbler in the squad according to figures, behind only Hatem Ben Arfa and Davide Santon, with 1.5 successful dribbles per game.


- Debuchy leads the Newcastle squad in tackles made per game, with 24 in six games, averaging four per game, by far the best in the squad.

- By contrast predecessor at right-back Danny Simpson made 32 tackles in 16 appearances, averaging two per game.

- Debuchy ranks fifth in the squad for interceptions made, 1.8 per game, with Tiote and Cabaye leading this field with 2.6.

- Debuchy has already made 53 clearances, averaging 8.8 per game, the third highest in the Newcastle squad, behind only Mike Williamson and Steven Taylor.

- Debuchy and Sissoko make the fourth and fifth highest number of passes per game in the squad, Debuchy 35.8 and Sissoko 34.3.
