Five Tottenham players under the spotlight against Arsenal

Lewis Holtby

Which Tottenham players will be the focus of attention in the North London Derby?

We have picked out five who have it all to prove or we expect something magical from...

Gareth Bale

Where else could we start, but the Welshman? Bale is in terrific form and has 19 goals for Spurs this season, he will be desperate to make it 20 or even more by continuing his goalscoring run against Arsenal. If Bale is worth the millions they say he is, these are the games he must step up and really emphasise it.

Emmanuel Adebayor

When Emmanuel Adebayor plays against Arsenal, it's never dull. In the match at the Emirates he scored against them to put Spurs 1-0 up, and then got sent off after quarter of an hour, effectively inviting an Arsenal comeback. He will be keen to make amends this time, but will have to keep his head, and won't be helped by the fact he is in wretched form, but this could be the match to spark him back into life.

Hugo Lloris

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not have fond memories of his first North London Derby; he conceded five goals. He will be keen to right that wrong, and he will need to be in excellent form to keep the Gunners at bay. Lloris has matchwinner written all over him for a big game like this and needs to go out and show it.

Scott Parker

Scott Parker may not have the pretty jobs to do, but his role is arguably the most important. With Sandro injured it will fall on him and Dembele to break up Arsenal's attacks, and Parker will come face to face with England colleague Jack Wilshere, in a key battle which could decide the game, and will also want to stop Santi Cazorla drifting inside.

Lewis Holtby

New signing Lewis Holtby had a promising start at Spurs but has faded slightly in the last couple of games, being substituted early against West Ham after failing to make an impact. All eyes will be on him to see if he can lift his game against the club he 'snubbed' in favour of Spurs. Holtby has already played against Arsenal twice this year, winning and drawing with Schalke, assisting a goal in the victory.
