Team news now ahead of the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this weekend and Arsenal will conduct a late test on Abou Diaby to see if he has recovered in time from a calf injury. He is currently rated as 50/50 for the fixture. Bacary Sagna will not recover from his injury in time for the game at The Lane while Kieran Gibbs remains out injured.
Spurs on the other hand welcome back Jermain Defoe from his ankle injury and he should be on the bench for the tie. Younes Kaboul, Sandro and Tom Huddlestone are absent with knee problems while Clint Dempsey will also be out with a calf problem.
Arsenal are ready to join Barcelona in the pursuit of Omar Abdulrahman this summer. Reportedly both teams were alerted to the availability of the United Arab Emirates international at the Olympic Games last summer. The 21-year-old forward is currently playing for Al Ain and has been compared to David Silva in Spanish press. He is also being looked at by Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Hamburg and Malaga.
David Beckham has revealed rather surprising news about his son Brooklyn - revealing he is an Arsenal fan. The other members of the Beckham clan are all Manchester United fans but Becks revealed his eldest, who currently plays on the books at Chelsea, is a Gooner.
There has been more talk on the pursuit of Sebastian Corchia today as the race heats up for the France under-21 captain. The Sochaux right-back is being earmarked as a replacement for Bacary Sagna who is expected to leave in the summer. His contract expires in 2014 and has so far resisted the offer of a new contract at the Ligue 1 outfit.
Tottenham fans have presented a united front toward the treatment of fans at the ground on Sunday. Wenger has recently been the victim of vile chants from Spurs fans while Tottenham fans have been in the news recently for being targeted by anti-Semitic behaviour. Spurs have used the website and the programme to warn people that such behaviour will receive ‘zero-tolerance’.
Arsenal are to loan out young winger Anthony Jeffrey to Stevenage until the end of the season. The 18-year-old has played 12 appearances for the under-18’s this season and will be available for the game against Colchester tomorrow.
Finally and Arsene Wenger has hinted that new signing Nacho Monreal will be moved to midfield when English left-back Kieran Gibbs returns from injury. He revealed the decision to Spanish publication Marca earlier in the week.
