Before going toe-to-toe with Marseille player Jordan Ayew, Golden Balls made sure the hair was in its usual immaculate condition.
You know that scene in the new James Bond movie right at the start? Daniel Craig has just torn the back off a runaway train carriage in Turkey with a giant JCB and then jumps on to the corridor before pursuing his nemesis with whom he then embarks on an entertaining fist-fight underneath tunnels.
He lands and in classic Bond style he belies any form of exasperation by simply adjusting the cuffs on his suit to make sure he is looking dapper enough for an in-motion altercation with a badass mercenary called Patrice. Spoiler alert; he later throws the Evra namesake off a skyscraper in Shanghai (which was actually Broadgate Tower located in Bishopsgate, London).
Well David Beckham also has certain ‘Bond-like’ qualities about him. Good looking, immaculate in a suit and a British icon known and loved around the world.
Now playing for Paris Saint-Germain, for free, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder has done his best impression of Bond after being felled by Jordan Ayew of Marseille in the Coupe de Ligue on Wednesday. The two were involved in a couple of ‘hairy’ moments and the Ghanaian international seemed to have a little snap at the English icon during the game. But before squaring up to the multi-coloured dermis of Ayew Becks still had a little time to sort his own quiff out; making sure it was in the perfect position for the cameras to capture his angry face.
He has recently starred in an H&M advert which got pretty decent reviews from consumer think-tanks and it seems this may be another moment worth adding to his resume.
Craig is not getting any younger so what about it?
The names Beckham, David Beckham.
Somehow I don’t think it would work with his voice.
