Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart insists his side will give their title defence ‘a damn good go’ after they won their first Premier League game since January 19 against Chelsea last weekend.
“It's going to be really hard, we've got a lot to do but we're going to have a damn good go at doing it,” stated the Englishman.
City forward Sergio Aguero echoed that sentiment as he called for City to ‘keep the faith’ despite remaining 12 points clear of leaders Manchester United.
"It's about keeping focused and trusting in our game. That applies to all our remaining Premier League games too. Can we still win the title? I'd like to believe so,” insisted the striker.
City were victorious at the Etihad last Sunday with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Chelsea. City bossed the pitch with and looked the more likely to take the lead but they had to wait until the 63rd minute of the game for Yaya Toure’s sensational opener.
Five minutes from time Carlos Tevez put the game beyond doubt after Chelsea failed to produce a reply.
City manager Roberto Mancini urged his team to ‘capitalize’ on their win against Chelsea who dropped down two fourth position after Tottenham leap-frogged into third.
“We need to continue to lay like to today,” the Italian coach said after the match.
"In football, it's finished when it's finished - in the last minute of the last game.”
Meanwhile Jack Rodwell has revealed his fears over his fitness after returning from injury once again this season.
"I did think the worst but then I thought that there's not many people in the position of being injured doing the thing they love. Now I'm back,” he told The Guardian.
In transfer news, The Mirror are reporting today that City intend to join the chase to sign Tottenham star Gareth Bale who has now scored a goal in all of his last 5 games in succession for Spurs in the league.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claims that City will face a ‘fight’ from Spanish champions Real Madrid if they intend to sign ‘target’ Edinson Cavani from Napoli this summer.
The Metro asserted this week that Barcelona have opened talks with Brazilian starlet Neymar in an attempt to thwart the advances of both City and Chelsea in the summer.
The same source indicates that City intend to make a bid for Sevilla ‘sensation’ Geoffrey Kondogbia.
However, there are concerns over the future of City striker Edin Dzeko who has revealed he definitely will return to the Bundesliga. However, he is unsure of when that could be.

Club sources have recently dismissed claims that some City players are unhappy with the proposed end-of-season tour to America.
“Several senior squad members raised their concerns,” said the source.
“But it hasn’t changed the plans.”
