Arjen Robben produced possibly the perfect finish to help Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup.
What is the perfect finish? A shot which is so precise and secure that it's literally unstoppable via defenders or the goalkeeper.
Well, Arjen Robben produced something quite close to it as Bayern Munich secured a 1-0 win to move into the semi-finals of the German Cup last night.
It was fitting after the away side trounced Bayern scoring five goals in the final of the tournament last season as they completed a domestic double.
The skill and precision to curl the ball into the corner of the goal was superb and something that no amount of money can buy. You will see better goals over the rest of the season but you’ll struggle to find a better example of how to execute a shot.
What made the finish more remarkable was the fact that Robben had to improvise as the ball fell to him after a slightly heavy toe poke from Philipp Lahm. Had he more time to think about it then he may even have done the unthinkable and missed.
