Who can Chelsea turn to in order to save their season if they fire Benitez?
Rafa Benitez says he will leave at the end of the season but for many Chelsea fans it can't come soon enough.
It won't be lost on many that Chelsea's opponents this weekend are West Brom; whose wins over the club have preceded their past two sackings.
While the club claim it is 'business as usual', if Chelsea lose then Roman may have to act.
Here are five bosses who can step into the breach NOW...
Avram Grant may have done himself a disservice with his spell at West Ham, but they say you cannot argue with statistics, and during his time at Chelsea he had the highest win percentage of any boss in the Abramovich era. Grant remains well liked by the Chelsea hierarchy and is used to being a 'fire-fighter' as his spell at Portsmouth showed, and can start straight away.
Roberto di Matteo
This time last year Di Matteo was brought back and went onto win the Champions League. How about he repeats the feat with the Europa League this year, and also wins the FA Cup again? If they do then the club will have come full circle to the start of the season, but it will be a very popular decision with the supporters. Roman will have to admit he was wrong, but it could just be preparation for his plan to entice Mourinho back in the summer.
Well why not? Many have mocked John Terry for effectively being the Chelsea boss, controlling the dressing room and arguing with Benitez; how about giving him the job and seeing what he can do? The players won't fall out with him and if he is dropped he will only have himself to blame.
Chelsea fans would any of the above make you happy?
