Liverpool latest: Including Kelly and Sterling

The Kop Sign Outside

All of the latest Liverpool news.

The apparent stand off between Martin Skrtel and Brendan Rodgers could force the Slovakian to leave the club this summer. Skrtel recently revealed that he didn’t believe Rodgers was telling the truth with the reasons behind him being dropped from the first team.

Liverpool could part with up to £20 million to sign Hatem Ben Arfa from Newcastle United this summer. Liverpool have been linked with the playmaker but the fee is around the maximum that the club can spend without sacrificing their budget for other targets.

A fee of £8 million is what it will take if Liverpool want Feyenoord captain Stefan de Vrij this summer. Brendan Rodgers was recently spotted at a home match of the Dutch club as speculation grows that Liverpool will offer the Feyenoord skipper a route to Anfield.

Liverpool could have an opportunity to sign Dynamo Moscow winger Balazs Dzsudzsak this summer. They missed out on the loan signing of the wide man but reports from Russia suggest the club are lining up a replacement as they prepare to sell the attacker.

Liverpool defender Martin Kelly has revealed he thinks he can take over from Jamie Carragher at centre back. Kelly has been out of the side injured and usually plays as a full back despite his own admission that he prefers to play as a centre back if he’s given a choice.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed that he has not had a bust up with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. Reina says he has a great relationship with the manager despite the fact several goalkeepers continue to be linked with the club as possible replacements for the current number one.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed his worries that the pressure of playing for Liverpool is starting to get to Raheem Sterling. Sterling broke into the side as a raw 17-year-old at the start of the season and has been sparingly used over recent weeks as Rodgers seeks to give him a bit of rest.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush has described striker Daniel Sturridge as a ‘natural goalscorer’. Sturridge has had a very positive impact since he joined the club from Chelsea last month, which has attracted praise from one of the club’s greatest ever strikers.
