Chelsea fans react on Twitter to Nathan Ake performance

Chelsea Stand

Chelsea are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after a win at the Riverside last night.

Regardless of whether Nathan Ake becomes a superstar or not, Middlesbrough will always be a special place for him. For it was the scene of the night he was handed his first Chelsea start.

Bearing a striking resemblance to former Chelsea cult-hero Ruud Gullit, Ake showed plenty of bright touches in midfield and did not look out of place in the illustrious company of his established teammates.

Chelsea won the match and progress to a quarter-final with Manchester United, with Ake's debut start one of the night's bright spots on a night manager Rafa Benitez was just relieved to win, before his post-match outburst at least.

Chelsea's number 57 is a Dutch under-19 international able to play in central defence and in central midfield, just like Gullit.

So what did supporters make of his performance? We took to Twitter to gauge the reaction...
