Arsenal latest: Including Bergkamp statue and Sagna fitness

Dennis Bergkamp has recently been touted toward a potential Emirates return but now it seems he will never have to leave; as the club get ready to honour the Dutch legend with a statue at the ground.

A picture of the potential landmark to the great Dutchman has been revealed on Twitter.

It shows a magnificent moment when the elegant forward controlled the ball in mid-flight against Newcastle United while playing for the club which you can see here.

Theo Walcott believes that Arsenal just need to break their silverware duck for the trophies to start flooding in at The Emirates. Arsenal face an eighth season on the bounce without major silverware after going out of the League Cup and FA Cup to lower league opposition while sitting way off the pace in the Premier League. They now also face an uphill task of overturning a 3-1 deficit in the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna expects to be fit to face Gareth Bale in the North London Derby this weekend. The Frenchman has been resting up after Arsene Wenger admitted that recent leg breaks had left the 29-year-old playing through the pain barrier for most of the season. His knee ligament strain has reportedly calmed down and he has reintegrated himself into light training.

Tottenham have some positive injury news ahead of the game as well as Jermain Defoe looks likely to return from injury in time for the game at White Hart Lane this weekend. He has not played since suffering an ankle injury against West Brom on the 3rd of February.

The agent of reported Arsenal and Manchester United target Simon Mignolet has said his client wants to play on a ‘bigger stage’ in order to usurp Chelsea’s on loan Atletico Madrid stopper Thibaut Courtois as Belgium’s number one keeper. However the Black Cats custodian has contradicted these claims by stating he wants to stay at the Stadium of Light for the foreseeable future.

Arsenal and Spurs are set to fight it out this summer for young French right-back Sebastien Corchia. Bacary Sagna could be on his way out of the club as he is reportedly upset at being offered just a one-year extension to his current deal. The current France under-21 captain is also being pursued by Bayern Munich, Juventus and Lyon.

Meanwhile it also believed they might be on a collision course for the signing of Aston Villa forward Andreas Weimann.
