Marco Sau is a prolific Serie A striker who could be on the move this summer.
Remember the name Marco Sau because if your team is looking for a forward at the end of the season, there are many reasons it could be this guy.
Aston Villa are one such team, especially considering there are rapidly developing links suggesting Christian Benteke is on his way out of the club.
Villa also need a little bit of a boost up front because they have won of the worst scoring records in English football this season; just 25 goals for at home and away in the league.
Sau bagged a brace in Cagliari’s match over the weekend and the 25-year-old is quickly grabbing attention from all corners of the football world.
He’s been on loan five times since he first joined the Italian club in 2007 and he could be on the move just as he starts to settle at the Serie A side.
He’s bound to be seeking stability and longevity and his recent history has proven there’s no guarantee he’s going to get that at Cagliari.
Therefore, the chance to move and settle in at an established Premier League side could be very tempting. Although it does depend on Aston Villa staying in the Premier League ahead of next season.
There are several reasons this guy would be perfect for Aston Villa next season and should cause Villa to pay whatever they can for a player of his calibre.
He is small, quick, agile and extremely skilful in possession and in terms of controlling the ball.
He’s also been effective, very effective in a lower quality league; 17 stars, four sub appearances, eight goals and a single assist.
The natural determination, uplift and positive energy that a Premier League side and Premier League competition can provide, could easily cause these stats to improve even further.
The fact he’s not at one of the big Serie A sides also means he could be available at a much cheaper price than if he was playing for Juvetnus, Inter Milan AC Milan or Roma.
This is extremely significant considering the importance of buying well for a club like Aston Villa, especially when the Premier League cost controls are about to come into effect.
Sau could easily be available to any side at under the £10 million mark which is a realistic fee for a side that will be looking to stay in the Premier League this season and then re-build ahead of next season.
He is definitely worth taking a risk on. Check out our video below;
