Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says the club are so good, he often gets bored with nothing to do.
Everything bodes well for Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Bayern Munich because according to their ‘keeper, the side is so good he never really has anything to do during games.
Bayern have reacted positively to losing a bit of dominance to Borussia Dortmund in German football and they now sit 15 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
More amazingly, they have conceded just seven goals home and away all season long which is frankly, a ridiculously good defensive record.
“After some games this season I haven't needed to have a shower. Yes I guess sometimes it is boring being in goal. But it is actually important to keep talking and have communication with my defence,” said Neuer.
It doesn’t bode well for the Gunners ahead of the Champions League clash this evening but Neuer could well have a lot more work to do in North London.
After all, Bayern conceded the same number of goals in the group stage of the Champions League, than they have in the entire Bundesliga season so far.
Recent wins over Schalke and Mainz came without either of those sides even having a shot on goal.
It seems remarkable, the transformation Bayern have made this season and the style of play Guardiola brands on the club could make them unbeatable over the next few seasons.
If Bayern don’t make it all the way in the tournament this season then they stand a good chance of setting a Bundesliga record which very few other teams will get anywhere near over the course of the next few years, maybe ever.
What do you make of Bayern’s record this season?
