David de Gea is very much the man of the moment after his show-stopping performance against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Suddenly he is one of Europe's most wanted goalkeepers; with Barcelona left-back Adriano stating he would like to see him at the Nou Camp.
That switch is unlikely, with the Catalans said to have reached an agreement with German 'keeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen, but Atletico Madrid and Real would both certainly take him if United wanted to sell.
United have of course been linked themselves with goalkeepers themselves, and reports in Spain now indicate they are looking at Victor Valdes of Barcelona.
Tonight, news outlet AS claims that Chelsea want to sign De Gea from United - as they prepare to offload Thibaut Courtois to secure Falcao from Atletico Madrid.
Spanish journalist Manolete writes: "De Gea fails to convince the Scot (Sir Alex Ferguson) and even Chelsea would be very interested and would accept the former Atletico."
Now this seems to us very unlikely to happen, mainly that Sir Alex Ferguson would not sell a player of De Gea's talent and potential to a rival, whether he wants rid of him or not.
Still it makes for fascinating reading, but to us it makes you consider that reports in Spain about Chelsea and Falcao being 'done' or close to, are not quite all they seem when improbable links like these are made.
What do you think, could such an unlikely move ever happen? Would Chelsea fans even want De Gea?
