Forget David Villa - Premier League teams should be chasing this Barcelona forward

Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked before but now Juventus are trying to steal a march on Alexis Sanchez.

Juventus appear to have all but booked themselves a place in the Champions League quarter finals after dispatching of Celtic by three goals to nil in the away leg of their last 16 tie. With that now apparently settled they are continuing to look toward next season. With Fernando Llorente already on the way over to Turin on a Bosman transfer from Athletic Bilbao they are again looking at Spain for further striking reinforcements; but not who you might think.

It has been widely reported that David Villa is slightly disillusioned with life in Catalonia at the moment; the poor guy has also been dealing with a bout of kidney stones for his troubles as well (studies have shown stress can cause such an ailment; transfer gossip aside Villa has also just become a dad so his kidneys had no chance). However Corriere dello Sport suggest they will in fact be after Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez.

The vibrant attacker has not been a shoe-in for first-team places at Barcelona since his arrival from Udinese and has fierce competition from the likes of Villa, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro, Christian Tello; oh and some geezer called Lionel Messi who is supposed to be quite good, apparently.

With Mauricio Isla and Arturo Vidal national compatriots currently playing for the Old Lady a move to play in the Bianconeri makes sense; especially when you consider the five years he spent at fellow Serie A outfit Udinese.

But surely the ears at the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea should all be pricked at hearing this news.

He can play anywhere across the front-line and his hard working attitude will fit right in with the Premier League. He certainly strikes me as a Mancini player (if Roberto is still at The Etihad in the summer). Similar in his robust attitude to Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez you can see him slotting in perfectly to the system at Eastlands.

Arsenal should also consider his talents. He would be a perfect fit into the 4-3-3 formation at The Emirates while Chelsea could do with just signing anyone better than Torres up front.

A move to Juventus seems the logical and likely option if Alexis decides to depart the Camp Nou but Premier League teams should certainly not be afraid to tempt him with the Premier League.

Would you like to see Alexis Sanchez at your club this summer?
