ICAP Energy Voted Overall Energy Broker Of The Year For 8th Successive Year

ICAP Energy, the energy business of ICAP plc, has been voted "Overall Broker of the Year" in Energy Risk magazine’s annual commodity rankings.

Based on votes cast by energy trading executives, Energy Risk's Overall Broker of the Year category is the most respected and widely recognised in the energy industry.

ICAP Energy was awarded 25 first-place positions, including four first-place positions within the 'overall' categories: best overall Broker, overall Energy, overall Natural Gas and overall Oil.

Commenting on the awards, Energy Risk said: 'With a sizable 17.1% of the vote, ICAP Energy retains its position as top broker in energy. Excluding metals, the firm came top in 21 individual categories, coming in first place overall in energy, oil, natural gas and overall broker'.

According to Energy Risk, ICAP Energy's success comes 'amid a dramatic shake-up among dealers' due to 'muted volatility, sluggish trading activity and regulatory changes".

Paul Newman, Managing Director of ICAP Energy Ltd in London said: 'I am delighted that ICAP Energy has once again won this respected accolade. At ICAP, consistency and quality of service across all our markets is at the heart of what we always try to produce for our customers. On behalf of the employees of ICAP Energy, I would like to personally thank each of our customers and Energy Risk for their support throughout the years'.

Dennis Crum, Chief Executive Officer of ICAP Energy LLC, said: 'It is truly humbling to have received this award once again and gratifying to see that our customers recognize that unparalleled service and depth of market reach is our number one priority. Thank you Energy Risk and thank you to all of our customers'.

Voters in this year's Energy Risk rankings could base their decisions on a variety of criteria, including pricing, liquidity provision, counterparty risk, speed of execution and reliability. The poll should be considered a reflection of how market professionals view their peers and providers in terms of overall quality of service.
