Frank Lampard planning for life after football?

Frank Lampard has signed a new contract… but not with Chelsea.

It seems Frank Lampard is already planning for life after football following the news he’s signed a deal to write a series of children’s books.

Lampard has been in the headlines all season long following the news Chelsea were not prepared to offer him a contract beyond this season.

Well he seems to have taken that news as a wake up call and plans to put pen to paper on books which are loosely based on his close friends and playing teammates.

Of course this doesn’t mean Lampard is hanging up his boots at the end of the season, quite the opposite as Chelsea have reportedly done a u-turn and are in talks with him over an extension.

It means that he’s planning for a career away from football when he is ultimately forced to retire and writing children’s books could be a very lucrative and interesting route.

“I first had the idea of Frankie and his Magic Football when reading stories to my own children. Sport and reading are two essentials for us at home, so I decided to make up my own football stories and adventures,” said Lampard in a statement.

So how do you think he’ll get on?
