The Lazar Markovic to Chelsea transfer saga is only really a few months old, but there already indications it could beocme one of the strangest deals of 2013. Depending on what you believe, there could already be a deal place for the striker, and there are even rumours of a photo of his signed Chelsea contract doing the rounds in Serbia.
However Markovic has denied there is a deal in place between Partizan and Chelsea, but the 18 has also confirmed that he visited Chelsea last month to have a tour of their facilities and speak with Branislav Ivanovic.
It would seem strange for the striker to take a trip to Chelsea with no kind of agreement in place between Partizan and Chelsea, and it looks likely that he will finalise a move to Chelsea this summer.
The move would add another superb young prospect to Chelsea's ranks, with Markovic possessing all the attributes to become a star at Stamford Bridge. This season he has played both as a striker and a wide forward, and has contributed six goals and nine assists in 26 appearances for Partizan.
Markovic would perhaps be sent out on loan for a season to gain more experience before battling for a Chelsea starting place. Romelu Lukaku has demonstrated how difficult it can be for even the most talented young players to get into the Chelsea side, and Markovic would be unlikely to get senior appearances straight away, especially if the Blues manage to land a superstar striker like Falcao in the summer.
Whilst nothing is certain yet, and there is a lot of confusion surrounding this transfer already, it now seems more than likely that Markovic will move to Chelsea. However given the conflicting reports that have already come out about the player, there might well be plenty of twists and turns to come.
