Could QPR loaning out Djibril Cisse be one of Harry Redknapp’s worst gaffes during his managerial career?
It’s not looking good for QPR as they remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, searching around for solutions which will get them out of their current trouble.
They lack fire power on a big scale which is proved by the fact they have scored only 19 goals all season long.
They have a striker in Loic Remy who is only at the club as a stepping stone ahead of a bigger move and there are several other players who only seem to have joined the side for the financial incentive of doing so.
Djirbil Cisse is now on loan at Al-Gharrafa and he is the ideal sort of player QPR need at the moment to help fire them off the bottom of the table so it seems bizarre why they let him leave in the first place.
It may have been a personal request from the striker who didn’t want to be at QPR any more and he could well be sold in the summer.
That has to be the only reason because how can Redknapp say he’s surplus to requirements if that is not the case.
Cisse undoubtedly adds a lot of quality to the attack of any side he plays for; he’s quick, he’s agile, he’s versatile and most importantly he knows how to regularly hit the back of the net.
He seemed extremely passionate in a QPR shirt last season and looked up for the challenge of helping the side get out of trouble, earlier this season so the logic in sending him out on loan at a time when the side is struggling is a bit baffling.
The money involved and the logistics involved in getting Remy into the club were pointless because the side already had Cisse, who some will argue is a much better striker.
However, the move has happened now and it’s done and dusted which means Cisse will have to review his options once his loan spell expires.
Considering the way he’s been treated by QPR, few will be surprised if he jumps ship should the team get relegated back down to the Championship and even fewer will be surprised if he gets snapped up by a top side.
QPR fans, are you happy Cisse’s gone out on loan?
