Sources within the Spanish press are claiming that Gareth Bale’s agent is already talking with Real Madrid. The Tottenham winger is being heavily tipped for a summer move to Spain and it would seem that his agent is already laying the groundwork if the reports from Spain are true.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been training through the pain barrier to be available for tomorrow’s clash against Manchester United. The former Liverpool player has been carrying a groin problem which was originally expected to keep him out of the tie.

Pro-Real Madrid newspaper Marca has stoked up the war of words ahead of the club’s clash with Manchester United, brandishing United striker Wayne Rooney as a ‘freckled demon’. Marca also implied Rooney is a hooligan, bringing 5000 of his mates over for the Champions League tie from Manchester.

Tino Costa has revealed that he is extremely confident Valencia can overpower French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this evening. Costa has suggested Valencia will treat it like any other game and that they have the belief to kill the tie off in the first leg.

Barcelona have rejected a plea from arch rivals Real Madrid to move forward the El Classico game before Madrid’s second leg match against Manchester United in the Champions League. Real Madrid wanted the match moved forward a day but Barcelona only agreed to move the match to Saturday afternoon from he evening.

Roma are expected to announce that striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is available to any side that wants to sign him. The Espanyol forward joined Roma last summer but the Italian club are thought to be unhappy with a string of disciplinary problems and simply want to move the player on.

Malaga midfielder Manuel Iturra is being linked with a move away from the club. The attacking playmaker is thought to be the subject of scouting from Premier League side Liverpool and could be available for as little as £3 million according to initial reports on the story.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is the new betting favourite to become next Manchester City boss. Mourinho is favourite at 9/4 as speculation surrounding Roberto Mancini’s future gains pace in the wake of City’s 3-1 loss to Southampton last weekend.

Barcelona have revealed that they had the chance to sign Mario Balotelli in 2006. The Italian forward trained with the club’s B side but a transfer for him fell through because, unsurprisingly, he was asking for too much money. He played three games for Barca’s youth team.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has suggested that Jose Mourinho will never be the boss at Old Trafford. The Dane has suggested the Portuguese coach is too controversial to take over once Sir Alex Ferguson retires from management.
