Football League Transfer Talk: Including Boyd and Gorkss

Hull City V Liverpool Pre Season

Hull City, Watford, Cardiff City and Wolves all feature.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce says he is waiting to hear back about a possible loan deal for Peterborough United striker George Boyd. Boyd wants away from his current club and failed to secure a move to Nottingham Forest last month, failing his medical due to a vision problem.

Almen Abdi says he is open to the suggestion of a permanent move to Watford. Abdi is currently on loan at the Championship side from Serie A giants Udinese and has confirmed that he is in talks with all parties over a possible permanent deal at the end of the season.

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that Paulo Jorge has joined Bulgarian side Beroe Stara Zagora on loan until the end of the season. Blackburn pushed through the loan deal for the 20-year-old because they want him to get a much more first team experience.

Brian Howard is on the verge of completing a move to Championship strugglers Bristol City. Howard has been training with the club for the past week and is free to complete the move any time he desires as he is currently a free agent after leaving League One’s Portsmouth.

Reading central defender Kaspars Gorkss is close to completing a move to Championship side Wolves. Wolves boss Dean Saunders said yesterday that he wants to improve the defence of the side and that he’ll use the current loan window to do just that.

Cardiff City are about to offer 18-year-old Nazmi Faiz a trial spell ahead of a possible move to the club. Faiz has been playing his football in Portugal and Cardiff’s scouts have earmarked him as a possible solid investment should the club complete promotion to the Premier League.

Everton have sent academy left back Johan Hammar out on loan to Stockport County. Everton want the Swedish Under-19 international to get used to playing regular first team football and to experience life full-time as a player at a professional football club.
