News and gossip from The Emirates.

Arsenal expect to have Jack Wilshere available for the Champions League tie with Bayern Munich next week. Wenger can also expect to have Laurent Koscielny back while the ankle problem for Thomas Vermaelen will continue to be assessed by medical staff at The Emirates. Wilshere picked up a slight knock against Sunderland at the weekend but is likely not to risk his fitness against Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup ahead of the game with Bayern.

Newcastle United's latest star French acquisition Moussa Sissoko has revealed he would have 'loved' to have played at Highbury. The former Toulouse midfielder was speaking of his admiration for Patrick Vieira; a player he admits he models his style on and that the Arsenal team containing the likes of Pires, Wiltord and Vieira made him 'dream' of a football career.

Arsenal left-back Andre Santos has insisted that he still has a future at The Emirates despite being loaned out to Brazilian club Gremio yesterday. The Brazilian international was signed from Fenerbahce for £6.8 million in 2011 but he has failed to adapt to English football during his time in the Premier League and was effectively replaced by Nacho Monreal in January. Santos is hoping to perform well for Gremio and return for Arsenal a better player. He has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal in North London.

Nacho Monreal has spoken about his desperation to win trophies at The Emirates. The January arrival from Malaga has spoken of how he would also be happy to play a supporting role in the pursuit of silverware this season. Arsenal are still in the hunt for the FA Cup and Champions League and are chasing a top four finish in the Premier League. The left-back has not yet won a trophy in his career and spoke of the joy that he would feel if the team managed to win the FA Cup this season.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that Spurs need to be wary of a late Arsenal surge for the Champions League spots. The stopper, who is an international team-mate of Arsenal stars Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Abou Diaby, stated that while Arsenal have every chance of leapfrogging their local rivals he had every confidence in himself and his team-mates to hold off the challenge.

HITC have run a feature on former Arsenal protégé Fran Merida. The young Spaniard has struggled in his career since moving from North London three years ago with spells at Atletico Madrid, Braga and Hercules all being unsuccessful. As he veers close to a move to Brazilian outfit Atletico Paranaense we look back at his recent career.

Arsenal may battle Manchester City to the signing of Borja Lopez in the summer. The 18-year-old currently has a buyout clause of £4.5 million while Manchester United are also said to be interested in his services.
