The €10 million Tottenham target who destroyed Dortmund

Hamburg Fans - Hamburger SV

Tottenham Hotspur scouts monitoring Heung Min Son won't have failed to be impressed by his latest exploits.

Tottenham were heavily linked with buying a striker in the transfer window, but as has been well documented, they chose to take the gamble and stick with the squad they have.

One player linked with them who may still be a summer target is South Korean striker Heung Min Son, with Spurs claimed to have scouted him in South Korea's friendly with Croatia at Craven Cottage last week.

The Hamburg striker was valued at around €10 million, but his value may have just shot up after the weekend.

He was the star as Hamburg ripped reigning champions Dortmund to shreds in their own backyard, winning 4-1.

Son scored twice, in the 26th and 89th minutes before being taken off to a standing ovation from the away support.

His performance was one of deadly accuracy, Son had three shots, all three which were on target and two were goals.

He was not the only player to feature in the match who will be of interest to Tottenham supporters.

Former player Rafael van der Vaart, now Son's teammate at Hamburg, was at the centre of controversy after a melee in the first half.

He interjected himself in a confrontation involving Robert Lewandowski, and after being pushed by the Pole, dived to the ground in order to help get him sent off, something he admitted after the match.

"In the scene with Lewandowski I had to do a bit of theatre. I had the feeling that he would not otherwise have been sent off. It was a clear red card."

An admission like that wouldn't go down well with fans in the Premier League, and it is dominating the post-match discussion in Germany.

But really the attention should be on Son's goals, and the burgeoning reputation of the 20-year-old striker.

Would Son be a good signing for Spurs in the summer? At what price?
