Stats: Wojciech Szczesny v David de Gea, Which looks like the £20m man?

Arsenal or Manchester United goalkeeper having the better season?

Arsenal and Manchester United face off tomorrow night, a game neither side can afford to lose.

That of course means the goalkeepers will want to be on the very top of their game, with Wojciech Szczesny coming off the back of shipping five at Liverpool, and David de Gea feeling he could have done better for Fulham's late equaliser at the weekend.

Szczesny actually made more saves in that game than he has in any all season, while De Gea has this season undergone his first at United as a clear first choice, without being rotated for Danish international Anders Lindegaard.

It is almost three years since United paid £20 million to sign De Gea from Atletico Madrid, while Szczesny joined Arsenal's youth set up as a teenager from Legia Warsaw back in 2006.

Based on the season's statistics so far, its hard to mark one out as the £20 million man and the other as the academy graduate.

David de Gea Man Utd GK 67 8 7 106 93 24 7 0 25

Szczesny can boast four more Premier League clean sheets; but if you were to point to a superior defensive line in front of him, it does not explain why he has made 13 more saves than the United man.

The Arsenal goalkeeper has also made far more spectacular saves than his rival, and comes out on top in almost every department.

He makes more accurate goal kicks, more accurate throws, and has conceded less goals from both outside and inside the box.

The only question mark over Szczesny in comparison to De Gea is he has given away two penalties, showing his rash streak which saw him sent off in similar circumstances for Poland at Euro 2012 is still there.

Overall Arsenal fans can be happy with their goalkeeper, De Gea hasn't been disappointing this year, but he's been middle of the road in a United side which has underwhelmed as a collective, and there are signs that frustration is creeping into his game.
