Thanks for joining us today at White Hart Lane. Enjoy your weekend.
14:40: FT - Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Newcastle United (Bale 2; Gouffran)
14:39: Well it is time to give my Man of the Match award and it could have gone to Lewis Holtby if he had not been subbed off but for his double today, it is Gareth Bale.
14:37: Great chance for Newcastle as Ameobi is denied by Hugo Lloris, great save from the Frenchman
14:36: Dembele replaced by Jake Livermore as Villas-Boas looks to run down the clock
14:33: Seven minutes of stoppage time due to the injury to Gouffran
14:32: First yellow card of the game as Cabaye hammers in to Dembele
14:32: Couple of minutes left at White Hart Lane as Newcastle are trying to carve open the Spurs defence
14:28: One more change for Newcastle as Shola Ameobi replaces Jonas
14:25: The Welshman burst through and fired under Krul. Change for Newcastle as Tiote replaces Perch
14:20: GOOOAALL: Bale makes it 2-1 to Tottenham
14:16: Assou-Ekotto for Naughton as Villas-Boas makes his second change and that really tells you how well Newcastle have played
14:15: Cabaye looking good for Newcastle and creating things for Cisse but with 20 minutes left both sides are running out of time here.
14:10: It is a quiet one but decision from Andre Villas-Boas is a strange one as Holtby is replaced for the Togolese international
14:09: We are going to see Adebayor here. What reception will he get from the White Hart Lane crowd
14:08: Once again they fail to make the most of it and Krul claims well
14:07: Bale takes but it comes to nothing and they have another one...
14:06: Spurs' man of the match so far, Lewis Holtby wins a corner...
14:04: Adebayor is now warming up for Spurs as they look to win this game
14:00: That is a big shame for Newcastle United to lose Gouffran, who was a candidate for man of the match
13:57: Gouffran in trouble here and is to be replaced by Sylvain Marveaux. Awful challenge from Kyle Walker on the goal-scorer and Phil Dowd is now talking to him.
13:55: Dempsey tries his luck from all of 30-yards but his shot is easily saved by Krul
13:52: Holtby with another chance. He has had a great game for Spurs here
13:50: Tottenham have started well trying to use Aaron Lennon rather than Gareth Bale but Newcastle are still performing well and look a threat going forward
13:45: Back underway at White Hart Lane with Tottenham the side who will need to come out better after Newcastle looked good before the break.
13:32: HT - Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Newcastle United - (Bale; Gouffran)
13:30: Too many creative players, not enough finishers for Spurs as they have struggled since that Newcastle goal
13:26: The frustrated Clint Dempsey makes room and fires in an effort but his shot is deflected wide and Newcastle clear the resulting corner.
13:22: Newcastle looking more like the team in 3rd place here with Tottenham not creating much other than when Gareth Bale gets on the ball.
13:20: Cabaye comes forward and strikes from distance, blocked from Dawson but Newcastle looking for that goal
13:18: More LIVE football coming up on HITC Sport this weekend with Real Madrid facing Sevilla later tonight and Man Utd hosting Everton on Sunday.
13:17: Spurs controlling more now but Newcastle for me, still look the biggest threat going forward.
13:12: Alan Pardew issuing instructions to Sissoko here, who I must say has had a silent but effective game for Newcastle
13:11: Great cross from Sissoko that finds Gouffran on the edge of the area and he sends his effort past fellow Frenchman Hugo Lloris
13:10: GOOAALL: Gouffran scores and levels the game.
13:08: Newcastle playing some nice football now, asking a lot of questions with Cisse getting space in between Dawson and Caulker.
13:05: Spurs down the other end with a good chance but Holtby fires just over the bar. Third chance for the German international.
13:04: Chance for Cisse who heads just wide after a superb cross from Coloccini
13:00: Spurs break quick from the corner but Holtby cannot get enough on his effort to test Tim Krul
13:00: Second corner of the game for Newcastle but poor delivery again sees Spurs clear the danger
12:57: Newcastle have upped the tempo but they are wary of Spurs' quick counter attack. Great atmosphere for this lunchtime kick-off
12:55: Lewis Holtby fires one just over the bar as Spurs continue to dominate. Newcastle yet to get in this game.
12:53: What a great start to Saturday's Premier League action and a brilliant start for Tottenham. Dominated the early goings here and lead 1-0 now thanks to that Gareth Bale set piece.
12:51: GOOOAAAL: Gareth Bale scores the resulting free-kick.....1-0 Spurs
12:50: Spurs playing nicely and they force Coloccini in to a foul on Dempsey. Free kick in a good position
12:47: Superb start to the game for Gareth Bale who delivers a superb ball across the six yard line but Clint Dempsey could not get on the end of it.
12:45: Underway here at White Hart Lane as
Remember to hit refresh for the latest action...
12:40: Players in the tunnel now ready for this one.......
12:25: Before kick-off why not try and win yourself a copy of FIFA 13 for the PS3 or X-Box
12:22: Newcastle - Krul; Debuchy, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Cabaye, Perch; Gutierrez, Sissoko, Marveaux and Cisse Subs: Harper, Yanga-Mbiwa, Anita, Tiote, Marveaux, Obertan, Shola Ameobi.
12:21: Spurs - Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Naughton, Dembele, Parker, Lennon, Holtby, Dempsey & Bale Subs: Friedel, Vertonghen, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Livermore, Sigurdsson and Adebayor
12:20: Team news...
12:15: And Pardew said this: “He’s (Villas-Boas) done a good job there. He’s gone quietly about his business, as he does. He’s a very thorough coach and I’ve got a lot of admiration for him. And I think they’ve got some fantastic players. Gareth Bale is definitely in that top five or six players in the world right now so we’ve got some difficult players to contain."
12:10: Here is what Andre Villas-Boas had to say before this one: "Steven Taylor and Cabaye, these are players that have an immediate impact on the team, they can make the difference – with the transfer additions they have found their ground. With the two wins it takes the pressure off the relegation battle they were in, so I think they arrive here as a new team. I’m unsure what they can do this season but I can predict Newcastle to jump back and continue to climb. I think Sissoko was a great grab, he was a player who only a couple of years ago was being linked with the top clubs in the world."
12.00: Welcome to White Hart Lane, I'm Ben Crump and I will be guiding you through this lunchtime kick-of between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. Team news to come shortly.....
