Moussa Sissoko has impressed since arriving at Newcastle and his two goals against Chelsea on Saturday, including a superb match winner make him the Premier League's Star of the Day.
Newcastle United hailed two goal debutant Moussa Sissoko as the hero as they beat Chelsea 3-2 on Saturday.
The French midfielder arrived from Toulouse on 21 January on a six-year contract and if his first performance in the black and white colours of Newcastle is anything to go by, then the club's fans can be very pleased.
Goals from Frank Lampard and Juan Mata has put Rafael Benitez's side ahead cancelling out Jonas Gutierrez's goal but Sissoko produced a sublime final twenty minutes of the game to give his side a deserved victory.
Manager Alan Pardew had plenty to say on his new signing following the game.
“Moussa Sissoko’s winning goal signalled his entry into the Premier League. He was absolutely outstanding, confirming everything I knew about him.
“I don’t need to say too much about him. His performance said it all. I first saw him 14 months ago and knew he was the one for us. We were going to do the deal in the summer but we accelerated it. My God he is paying us back handsomely.
“But don’t under-estimate Yohan Cabaye. He was magnificent. We saw some real French flair today.
“But, coming after the win at Aston Villa, this was a very important victory for us. We need to cherish it.”
